North Berwick Museum Plans 'on track'

East Lothian Council (ELC) and the Coastal Museum working party have finalised plans for the development of a new attraction in East Berwick, Scotland.

A former school building will house the new North Berwick Coastal Museum, which will see the ground floor library upgraded and the first floor museum facility reopened.

Plans are now set to be submitted for consideration and it is hoped that the attraction will be ready to open by spring 2012.

ELC cabinet member for community wellbeing Ruth Currie said: "The new museum will be known as the North Berwick Coastal Museum as it will be the focus for the wider community including Dirleton, Gullane, Aberlady and other coastal villages. "The project is very much a community partnership as local individuals and groups have been consulted on the plans for the museum via the working party."
